Die casting-Aluminum part

Aiming at the shortcomings of die-cast aluminum: “Due to the high speed of liquid metal filling the cavity when die-casting aluminum, the fluid state is unstable, so the general die-casting aluminum method is used, and the casting is prone to pores and cannot be heat treated.” So it is easy to cause poor appearance of the product,and the defective rate of the product is very high.

Now there is a new process: extrusion aluminum + die-cast aluminum. That is, the exterior surface of the middle frame of the product is extruded with profile, and the internal structural surface of the middle frame is die-cast. The process is to place the aluminum profile into a mold after preliminary CNC processing, and then die-cast the internal structure. At high temperatures, the contact surface between the profile aluminum and the die-cast aluminum is partially molten, which makes the two more closely integrated.

The Advantage And Disvantage Of Nylon Prototype

Nylon,we usually call PA66,which widely be used in making prototype,even is not as widely used as ABS,but it still is important to rapid prototyping.Below is some features of nylon made parts.
Advantage
1.High mechanical strength,nice toughness and tensile strength.
2.Great fatigue resistance.The nylon parts can retain its mechanical strength after repeated bending,so we commonly make plastic gears with nylon material.
3.High softening point and heat-resistant.
4.Good rub resistance.
5.Good corrosion resistance

Disvantage
1.Poor water absorption and dimensional stability.
2.Poor cold-resistance.
3.Poor antistatic property.

How to process polyethylene prototype

The polyethylene prototype is mainly processed by the method of silicone vacuum casting, and the main advantages are short processing time and low cost;In addition to making polyethylene prototypes, we can also make other materials, such as ABS, PP, PC, PMMA, POM, silicone, etc.Generally, a set of silicone molds can only be used for about 10 times and cannot be used. Reuse can cause deformation and large size errors.

First of all, we need to make an original before making the silicone mold, which can be made by cnc machining or 3D printing.

Then make the silicone mold: After the original is ready, start making the silicone mold. After the silicone mold is dried for eight hours, cut the silicone mold open, and then we can take out the prototype. At this time, the silicone mold is ready.

Final injection: Inject the liquid material into the silicone mold, and it will be completed after drying. The service life of the silicone mold is about 10 times.

We usually use CNC maching to processing prototype ,but the CNC tooling is hard , can only  process hard material.So if customer need to make rubber product ,we will not be able to use CNC machining .In that time ,we will use vacuum casting to process.vacuum casting is the best way to make rubber product in small quantity.So how vacuum casting to process a prototype?

1,programming.

2,make a mold.

3,Pour the liquid soft rubber material into the mold and take it out after cooling.

4,surface finish:

If those rubber product need to do color,there have two way to make color.one is painting after the product out of mold .Another is the color and the product out of mold together.This mean mix the color powder andrubber materials required by the customer into the mold, and take them out after cooling.

At this time, the product comes with its own color when it comes out of the mold. But the price will be more expensive than painting.

The surface of the vacuum casting product is smooth, and generally does not need manual processing. Which can save manual processing time.

The difference between anodizing and painting in the surface finish of prototype processing

Anodizing and painting are common surface finish processes when making prototype models. Although anodizing and painting both make the surface of the prototype color, there are still differences between them, which are mainly reflected in the following three aspects:
1.For different materials, painting can be applied to many materials for prototypes, such as metal, plastic and resin, and anodizing is a surface finish process that only aluminum alloy prototypes have.
2.The color persistence is different. Because the painting only painting a layer of paint on the surface of the prototype, it will fall off over time, and the anodizing is to soak the aluminum alloy prototype in the potion to form an oxide film on the surface.Because the alumina produced by anodizing is a stable substance, it is difficult to react with oxidation in the air, so the color of the surface is relatively stable and not easy to fall off.
3.The effect is different. The anodizing color has a metallic texture. If you use painting, you will not be able to adjust that effect anyway.
