Rapid Tooling Case

Rapid tooling produces a working mould in days rather than the weeks a hardened production tool takes. The parts below came off tools cut from aluminium or simplified steel — real moulded components in the production polymer, not castings that resemble them.

It is the step between prototyping and full production: a real mould, at a fraction of production tooling cost, good for anywhere between one thousand and ten thousand parts. That is enough to test a market, run a pilot build or satisfy certification before a hard tool is justified.
