From Mule Build to Production Tooling
Automotive programmes run to fixed gates: design freeze, validation build, start of production. Parts have to land between them. We machine the first intake manifolds and pedal arms from solid 6061 billet in 2-7 days, so the test team can bolt them to a rig. When the geometry holds, we cast 10 to 50 sensor mounts and trim panels from silicone tooling for the fleet. Once the drawing stops moving, we cut steel or aluminium tooling in-house and shoot the same panels in ABS or PC/ABS, first shots at 15 to 30 days, with housing castings running in ADC12 alongside.

Automotive Manufacturing Capabilities
CNC Machining for Manifolds, Pedal Arms and Brackets
3, 4 and 5-axis milling and turning to +/-0.01 mm. We cut intake manifolds, pedal arms, sensor bosses and test fixtures from 6061-T6, 7075-T6 and stainless billet, and machine sealing faces and bearing bores on cast housings after they come out of the die. Prototype quantities run 2 to 7 days; 7 to 15 days for batches up to a few hundred.
Vacuum Cast Sensor Mounts, Ducts and Trim Samples
A silicone tool taken from a master pattern gives 10 to 50 parts in 5 to 7 days. Used for sensor mounts, ducting and interior trim samples where an injection tool cannot be justified yet. Resins match ABS and PC/ABS for stiffness and can be cast in colour, so a full interior set reaches the buck before tooling is cut.
Injection Moulding for Trim Panels and Sensor Housings
Aluminium and steel tools built in-house, first shots in 15 to 30 days. Aluminium tooling suits 500 to 5,000 trim panels and covers; steel takes the parts that stay in the programme. We mould ABS, PC/ABS, PA6-GF30 and POM, and cut a grain into the tool for interior surfaces or polish it where the part is visible. Gate size and rib thickness are revised in the existing tool.
Sheet Metal Brackets, Trays and Heat Shields
Laser cutting, CNC bending and TIG welding in 0.5 to 6 mm steel, stainless and aluminium. This covers mounting brackets, battery and ECU trays, heat shields and underbody guards. Welded assemblies are jigged so hole patterns repeat, then powder coated or passivated. Flat patterns are checked against the 3D model before the first bend, and bend radii matched to the press tooling we hold.
ISO 9001:2015 certified, with in-house CMM and dial-indicator inspection. Every batch ships with a dimensional report, and material certificates are traceable to the batch or heat number on request.
Automotive Manufacturing Services
CNC machining
Manifold bodies, pedal arms, sensor bosses and inspection fixtures, milled 3, 4 and 5-axis or turned, held to +/-0.01 mm. Materials we run for automotive: 6061-T6 and 7075-T6 aluminium, 304 and 316 stainless, mild steel, POM and PA6. Cast ADC12 housings come back to the mill for sealing faces and threaded holes.
Vacuum casting
Ten to fifty sensor mounts, air ducts, grommets or trim samples in 5 to 7 days from one silicone tool. Resins behave like ABS and PC/ABS, with rubber-like grades from 40 to 90 Shore A for seals and boots. Each tool is cast around a machined or SLA master, so a change means a new master.
Injection moulding
Aluminium or steel tools built in-house, first shots 15 to 30 days from drawing sign-off. Automotive parts we mould: interior trim panels, sensor housings, clips, bezels and covers in ABS, PC/ABS, PA6-GF30, PP and POM. Tool steel and cavity count are chosen for the shot count you actually need, not a default 1,000,000-cycle spec.
Sheet metal
0.5 to 6 mm laser cut, CNC bent and TIG welded. For automotive that means mounting brackets, battery and ECU trays, underbody guards, heat shields and enclosure panels in mild steel, 304 stainless and 5052 aluminium. Welded frames are built on jigs so the hole pattern lands the same on part one and part fifty.
3D printing
SLA for clear lenses, housings and form models; SLS in nylon for ducts, clips and brackets that get handled; metal printing for manifold runners and coolant paths that cannot be milled. Used early, when the packaging study is still moving, and for jigs that hold parts on the assembly bench.
